Traffic Jam
When many vehicles clog up
together, it is called traffic jam. Traffic jam is a common picture in cities
and towns of Bangladesh. It has taken a very serious shape in Dhaka city. This
problem is the result of rapid growth of population and the increasing number
of vehicle. It has negative impacts on our life and economy. When too many
vehicles try to move along a narrow street or road at a time, they create
traffic jam. There are several causes behind traffic jam. Firstly, many drivers
are not aware of the rules and regulations of driving and many others are not
willing to abide by traffic rules. Then, vehicles of various velocities ply on
the same road and it slows down the movement of vehicles. As most of the
rickshaw pullers are illiterate and ignorant of traffic rules, they often break
the traffic rules and create traffic jam. Again most of the drivers of the cars
and buses in our country are often callous to traffic rules. They drive their
vehicles at their sweet will, which is another cause of traffic jam. Wrong
parking of vehicles and unnecessary overtaking of vehicles area also
responsible for traffic jam, Owing to traffic jam, sometimes people are to wait
on the roads for several hours. It kills their valuable time and hampers their
work. IT causes great sufferings to a serious patient being carried in an
ambulance. We want to get rid of this problem. To overcome the problem, the
existing narrow roads and streets should be broadened. One way movement of
vehicles should be introduced and flyovers have tone constructed in certain
areas where traffic jam occurs frequently. Besides these, the traffic authority
needs to be more careful to enforce traffic rules. Above all, everybody should
follow the traffic rules in order to avoid traffic jam.
